Airboxlab measures: Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Particulate Matter, CO2, Temperature, Humidity. It is specially tailored for indoor spaces, where we spend up to 90% of our time. Airboxlab is open-source and you can make it at your local workshop and start empowering your community.

Order a Kit!
We’re working hard to put Airboxlab kits into Makers hands; we are thinking about two different packages: 1/ $99 + shipping cost: No Housing — We provide the 2 PCBs (tested & assembled), the sensors and all the necessary components. You make the housing locally! 2/ $149 + shipping cost: Housing included — We provide the 2 PCBs (tested & assembled), and all the necessary sensors, components and parts for the enclosure. You’ll just have to assemble it!

We are the guys behind Foobot, the good air guru. Airboxlab (once called alima) is our prototyping platform and allows us to benchmark air quality sensors. But it was also a first iteration of our design to evaluate product interaction and test market perception. At the time we posted a series of stories on our blog about its manufacturing choices so it could be made in any Fablab around the world. Today we are happy to finally have the time to release it correctly and complete the vision. Our goal is to raise awareness and empower people with knowledge to take control on their indoor air quality.
